Enjoy hands‑on children’s activities including shadow puppets and hanbok paper folding, and see beautiful traditional costumes up close. Watch food demonstrations and learn how cultural delicacies are made, then explore the food market and treat yourself to a delicious lunch.


Discover the meaning and traditions of Lunar New Year across different Asian cultures through interactive displays, performances and activities. With fun games and entertainment for all ages, it’s the perfect way to welcome the new year together as a community.

    Write the Chinese character “福”.

  • Shadow Puppets Experience
    Learn the history of shadow puppetry and watch a demonstration.
    Time: To be confirmed (2 sessions)

  • Board Games
    Learn and play new board games, with prizes to be won.

  • Paper Cutting – “福”
    Learn how to paper‑cut the character “福”.

  • Tea Ceremony - 1:00 - 2:00pm
    Traditional tea preparation and serving.

  • Dumpling Making
    Dumpling‑making demonstration, tasting, and recipe.

Ranfurly Room

  • Pancake Making & Tasting - 11:00am - 1:00pm
    Korean savoury pancake demonstration, tasting, and drinks (fundraiser).

  • Hanbok Paper Folding - 1:00 - 2:00pm
    Make a Hanbok using coloured paper.

  • Tuho Game - All Day
    Traditional Korean arrow‑throwing game.
